During one of our recent team outings, we had the pleasure of dining at Roy’s Hawaii, and let us just say — it lived up to every bit of its iconic reputation. From the bold island flavors to the warm, welcoming service, Roy’s continues to be a standout in Honolulu’s dining scene.

The Food
Chef Roy Yamaguchi’s signature style — Hawaiian fusion — is on full display here. Every dish felt like a celebration of island ingredients and global flavors.
We started with the Szechuan-style Baby Back Ribs, which were tender, tangy, and impossible to put down. The Misoyaki Butterfish — a Roy’s classic — was melt-in-your-mouth perfection, served with a delicate citrusy miso glaze that balanced richness and brightness beautifully.
Another favorite was the Hibachi Grilled Salmon, which came perfectly cooked with a crispy skin and a bold shoyu reduction. The presentation was gorgeous, but the flavors were even better.
Of course, we couldn’t skip dessert. The Signature Melting Hot Chocolate Soufflé is everything it’s hyped up to be — warm, gooey, and decadent with a scoop of vanilla ice cream to cool it off. A perfect end to a flawless meal.
The Service
Service at Roy’s was polished and genuinely friendly. Our server knew the menu inside and out, answered every question with care, and timed our courses perfectly. Water glasses stayed full, smiles never faded, and the whole team worked like a well-rehearsed symphony.
